Job Description

Key tasks:

In this position, you will lead the engineering of grid integration of high power (> 100MVAr) reactive power compensators, namely STATCOM (static synchronous compensator) and SVC (static var compensator). Your main task is people, team organization and engineering leadership, and you will be accountable for successful engineering delivery according to highly demanding customer specifications. You get to see the full engineering workflow from Tender evaluations and bid preparation, to projects’ detail design, and finally commissioning of the compensator at the actual site.

Key Accountabilities

Leadership through clear priority deployment, team skills/capability development and building our future strategic roadmapPlan, organize and execute on STATCOM technology and engineering localization for India marketValidate Projects’ resource needs and work estimations, maintain healthy resource portfolio (capacity forecasting and recruitment)Mentor and enforce engineering process rigor (first-time right culture, quality checks/milestones and change management)Projects’ engineering KPIs (on-time delivery, quality and cost)Seek and deploy Continuous Improvement and Process improvement opportunities

Qualifications/Requirements:

ME / M Tech in Electrical Engineering or another relevant fieldPreferably 15+ years’ experience in engineering and with minimum 7 years of experience in people supervisionExperience from Substation/Grid connected technology and projects, eg. FACTS, HVDCKnowledge in development/application of engineering processes and continuous improvementStrategic view to anticipate and implement coming needsFluent written and oral skills in EnglishStrong prioritizing and time management skills
