SR Engineer Interoperability
Position Highlights:
The Senior Engineer, Interoperability will have a high level support role and provide expertise in architecting, deploying and maintaining the integration and interoperability frameworks essential to support the information exchange needs within and external to the organization. The incumbent will be a subject matter expert in point to point, streaming, asynchronous, and event driven integrations. The person would be critical to and be both responsible and accountable for design and operational delivery of the interoperability initiatives. Additionally the role would supervise, guide and mentor other engineers and analysts to ensure desired organizational business outcomes are attained. This role combines the technical aspects of interoperability with the business understanding of the systems and processes involved.Responsibilities:
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain integration deliverables across clinical, research, and business systems. Develop and maintain HL7 and non-HL7 interfaces to enable seamless data exchange across healthcare and research environments. Proven expertise with enterprise integration and API development platforms, preferably Dell Boomi/Cloverleaf. Ability to gather API requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and produce comprehensive API design documentation (standards, contracts, and specifications). Solid understanding of event streaming technologies, particularly Kafka (topics, partitions, consumer groups). Hands-on experience implementing application security frameworks, including OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect, and JWT. Proficient in API testing strategies — functional, regression, performance, and security testing — using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or equivalents. Good understanding of firewall and advanced networking concepts to support secure system integrations. Provide on-call support, and keep integration documentation and records up to date.Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Computer Science, systems analysis or a related study Minimum of 7 years of experience in full life cycle implementations of integration initiatives using one or more middle-ware technologies, preferably Boomi platform. Minimum of 3 years experience working with cross functional teams providing expert knowledge for data analysis and modeling activities that drive integration requirements and deployment.The Ideal Candidate will have the following experience:
Experience building integrations with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Cerner or Epic. Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 and FHIR. Proficient with integration platform like Boomi and/or cloverleaf Workday intergration development experience is a plus
