Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated electrical engineer that can work individually or on engineering teams developing electrical calibration methods, systems, and procedures; analyzing measurement systems and error sources; and contributing to continuous improvement of calibration processes in the Metrology Department. Works autonomously with limited oversight. Work to influence parties within and outside work areas at an operational level regarding policies, practices and procedures. Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
What You will Do
Provide technical support for calibration technicians in the areas of precision electrical measurement, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of various test equipment (power supply, frequency, microwave, and digital).
Help lead collaboration efforts with engineering, operations and management to improve test equipment configuration, quality, repeatability, and measurement traceability.
Develop written calibration procedures, calibration laboratory methods, processes, and capabilities
Develop automated calibration procedures using various programing languages for measuring and test equipment.
Create uncertainty analyses for calibration procedures
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Experience in a design, manufacturing, and/or engineering environment
The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with interpretation of electrical schematics
Experience in the field of Metrology calibrations and/or electronic repair.
Have an advanced understanding of radio frequency “RF” and microwave measurement fundamentals.
Understanding and application of ISO 17025:2017 and ANSI/NSCL Z540
Familiarity with Fluke MET/CAL software operating system.
Basic understanding of uncertainty analysis and statistical process control
Good knowledge of calibration quality standards.
