Role Overview:
As Senior Director, Product Management for Tax, you will lead the transformation of ADP’s flagship Tax solution guiding its evolution to a next-generation platform while ensuring continuity and excellence for our extensive client base. This role is pivotal in defining the product vision, driving strategic execution, and collaborating broadly across Payroll, Business, Engineering, and Compliance teams. You will serve as the face of Tax product innovation at ADP, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term growth and market leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Strategic Leadership & Transformation
Lead the end-to-end transformation from legacy to next-generation solutions, ensuring seamless continuity for existing clients. Partner with executive and cross-functional leaders to align product, technology, and go-to-market strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Market Orientation
Product Planning & Delivery
Develop and prioritize roadmaps that balance innovation, technical debt reduction, and core operational excellence. Oversee product lifecycle management, from ideation through launch and ongoing support. Ensure robust business and market analysis, integrating user feedback, competitive intelligence, and regulatory trends. Conceptualize new markets to penetrate and drive new applicable product innovations
Customer/User Experience and Market Orientation:
Define and/or influence requirements to enable and leverage usability studies, business and product usage data, external industry trends, and metrics, to generate insights. Assure insights are effectively incorporated and outcomes are aligned. Partners with UX teams, supporting and encouraging an iterative design driven approach; integrating the user experience design process as part of the product definition and discovery process. Thoroughly understand competitors and their offerings. Know the market and identify new partnerships or acquisition targets to broaden or enhance a product portfolio. Partner with Product, Corporate Strategy, and Business Leaders to execute due diligence as needed. Analyzes market trends, articulates a market vision for the future and is regarded as a thought leader in the product/technology landscape. Committed customer advocate, empowering team to engage customers. Serves as the key client facing contact for the product portfolio. Engages critical 3rd party influencers, analysts, and consultants to educate the market on ADPs portfolio of products and services.Monitors commercial success as well as overall product performance and competitiveness in the marketplace and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
Metrics, Outcomes, & Continuous Improvement:
Foster a data-driven culture, using insights to drive product decisions and continuous improvement. Partner with legal, risk, and compliance experts to ensure products meet evolving regulatory standards.
People Leadership & Team Development:
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of product managers and cross-functional contributors.
Model and reinforce ADP’s core values of integrity, innovation, and service excellence.
Ensures that the organization understands the vision and direction for the product(s); responsible to communicate and reinforce strategy across teams. Leads global product teams through rapid, data-driven iterations focused on customer and stakeholder outcomes.
To Succeed In this Role:
12+ years’ experience in product management or related leadership roles, including managing large-scale, compliance-focused products.
Proven success leading digital transformation or modernization initiatives for high-impact, complex product lines.
Deep understanding of regulatory environments (e.g., employment tax, wage garnishments, financial compliance).
Track record of balancing innovation and operational discipline in mission-critical, multi-tenant SaaS or platform environments.
A strong business sense, an ability to relate priorities and work the business and customer needs, closely partnering with product teams across ADP and with 3rd parties.
Leading the way, proactively driving the vision and plan forward, staying ahead, pushing the team or starting new initiatives to innovate or to explore new ways of doing things.
Passion for the customer, both in terms of delivering awesome products and in imagining new ways to solve big customer problems.
Excellent collaboration skills -- leading execution across teams, influencing across organizations, respected, experience of working across levels from engineers and designers to VPs and GMs.
Experience with AI-driven product innovation and digital-first strategies.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred:
MBA and/or advanced Technical Degree preferred
Experience scaling compliance products globally.
Strong knowledge of global payroll, HCM, or workforce management solutions.
Expertise in navigating security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
Agile methodology experience.
Recognized thought leadership through industry speaking, writing, or panel participation.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The compensation for this role is USD $126,800.00 - USD $339,660.00 / Year*
