Job Summary:

The leader in this role will be the operational and execution muscle of the CMO Office, ensuring deliverables are ingested, prioritized, staffed and program managed through to effective execution.

When successful, this leader will have created a series of processes and practices that enables:

1. Teams to focus on the quality and outcomes of the work vs the process to develop it
2. CMO to be able to focus time on significant business growth-driving programs and scaling impact

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: 

Program Delivery 

Runs intake process of all marketing programs and requests including capacity management and prioritization across resource pools 

Develops / manages roadmap artifacts and prioritization of efforts 

Ensures programs are scoped and staffed through appropriate internal and external (agency/CW) resources 

Ensures programs are delivered OTIF with appropriate milestone review and documentation 

Manages a team of individual Marketing Program Managers that execute on individual efforts 

Interfaces with the overall PayPal Program Management Leadership team as the Marketing representative 

 

Budget Management 

Manages monthly budget review process 

Provides means for budget allocation decisions 

Manages incremental budget requests and prepares documentation to allow for trade off decisions to be made 

Ensures budget discipline (OPEX and T&E) is maintained across the function 

Develop and manage the marketing investment framework to ensure we are connecting investments to business outcomes 

 

Team Health 

Develops and executes programs to enhance team health and improve Engage scores including employee development and training 

Own people and organizational initiatives in collaboration with HR and leadership. 

 

Communications 

Owns the delivery of documentation for business operations reviews inc. monthly ops review, board decks, monthly and quarterly finance reviews 

Effectively cascade information to teams through newsletters, all-hands meetings, and other channels and forums 

Develop and deliver appropriate communications that can enables the function to report effectively to the team, CMCD & CEO Staff 

 

Strategy & Planning  

Lead quarterly and annual marketing planning processes, ensuring timely and effective execution. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including central planning / FP&A to align planning cycles with broader business objectives. 

 

CMO Support 

Is ‘eyes and ears’ of CMO to ensure time is being used wisely and partners with VP leads and EA to develop weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans. Protects CMO time and focus on what matters most 

Oversees development of CMO goals documentation and performance reviews 

Candidate will inherit team of 5 FTE (3 of whom are Senior Manager Marketing Ops, supporting VP Marketing). Candidate will also effectively manage CMO EA support.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $188,000 to $323,950
