The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior SQL Server/.NET Developer who excels at both backend database administration and application development. This role demands deep expertise in SQL Server, .NET technologies, and a strong foundation in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and collaboration within a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with AWS and automation tools is also highly desirable.

What You Will Do:

Database Development & Optimization

Design, develop, and maintain robust T-SQL code and stored procedures.

Perform advanced server tuning, query tuning and optimization to improve performance.

Troubleshoot database-related issues with a focus on root cause analysis and resolution.

SQL Server Administration

Manage SQL Server environments including installations, upgrades, patches, and configurations.

Administer backups, restores, agent jobs, security roles, and user permissions.

Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and data integrity.

Configure and manage SQL Server backups to disk, Amazon S3 using native tools or third-party solutions.

Design and implement strategies for long-term storage and archival of backups in AWS, ensuring cost-effective and secure retention.

Design and implement strategies for automated restores of production data for development use

Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Glacier, and IAM roles for database backup operations.

Automate SQL Server instance provisioning on AWS EC2, including installation, configuration, and security hardening.

Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts (e.g., PowerShell, CloudFormation, or Terraform) to enable repeatable and reliable deployments.

Support disaster recovery strategies through automated backup restoration, configuration synchronization, and environment rebuild procedures.

Application Development

Build and maintain scalable .NET applications using C# and ASP.NET frameworks.

Integrate applications with SQL Server databases and ensure seamless data flow.

BI & Data Integration

Develop and support basic SSIS packages for data ETL processes.

Build and maintain SSRS reports and SSAS cubes.

Collaboration & Support

Qualifications You Must Have

High Level proven expertise in:

T-SQL and SQL Server development

SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting

SQL Server database administration (backups, jobs, roles, installations)

SSIS, SSRS, SSAS

.NET/C# application development

Solid experience with:

Windows Server environments

Experience automating SQL Server deployments on AWS EC2 and managing DR runbooks or infrastructure-as-code.

Microsoft Project Server APIs and interfacing

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
