Job Description
The Healthcare Quality and Safety Branch is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their team in Hartford, CT. This Sr Data Analyst is being brought in to support two major initiatives including development and implementation of performance indicators, measures, and key metrics that provide situational awareness for both routine and emergency operation and partnering with the internal Data Management and Governance/Analytics Unit to complete the development of a Consumer Dashboard for State‑licensed Nursing Homes, ensuring data accuracy, transparency, and usability. The Senior Data Analyst will develop and analyze trends related to citations and complaints to enable early identification of facilities with potential quality issues and will create indicators and measures for the Facility Licensing and Investigations Section (FLIS), Provider Licensing and Investigations Section (PLIS), and the Office of Emergency Medical Services. Additional responsibilities include analyzing data for legislatively required and CMS reporting, generating monitoring reports to track state and federal work, evaluating existing reports to enhance transparency, and developing enforcement and operational metrics such as timeliness of follow‑up. The role will also support leadership decision-making by gathering and analyzing metrics related to fine structures, including severity of incidents, facility history, and the scope of resident impact, ensuring data-driven oversight and accountability across the branch.

Skills and Requirements
7+ years as a Data Analyst
Background in healthcare and regulatory analytics
Experience developing SQL queries for the development of analytic data products
Experience with PowerBI report development
UX experience including gathering requirements and responding to suer questions
Knowledge of project management software such as Azure Devops or related tool Experience with Power Query
Experience in the public sector
