Short Description
Responsible for timely completion of medical record reviews for charge integrity. Hospital bills are compared against documentation in the electronic medical record to ensure the recovery of all unbilled charges.Work with third party auditors to identify and support documentation as requested for medications, implants, treatments, supplies and equipment. Identifies gaps in charge capture and works collaboratively with the department to reduce future charge loss.Responsible for medical record reviews for quality, medical necessity, coding clarification and risk management as requested.
Experience Required
3 or more years of clinical experience in Trauma, Critical Care or Operating Room nursing. 2 or more years of experience in medical record review, coding or health care auditing.
Education Requirements
Graduate of Accredited Registered Nurse program
License/Certification Requirements
Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Special Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. Ability to work independently and to prioritize to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, analytic and problem solving skills.
