Hughes is a leading provider of satellite products and services that recently announced disruptive in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions for airlines. This position will manage the Aircraft Certification department and will work closely with Aircraft and Systems Engineering, Bid Team, PMO, Supply Chain and outside vendors to ensure regulatory compliance of Hughes IFC systems on commercial aircraft. Launch your new career at Hughes and seize the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the industry and exceed your potential. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Manage Aircraft Certification:** Manage a team of Certification Engineers to ensure regulatory compliance for all Hughes In-Flight Connectivity systems and well as interfacing with all necessary departments and peers to ensure built-in compliance across all departments + **FAA Focal Point:** Submit FAA project applications along with Project Specific Certification Plans as well as holding regularly scheduled status calls with the FAA to ensure Hughes meets regulatory expectations as well as schedule + **Certification Project Engineering:** Manage large scale In-Flight Connectivity Certification projects and interface with multiple vendors, internal stake holders as well meeting project schedule milestones + **Regulatory Compliance:** Stay up to date with aviation regulations and certification requirements and ensure that all systems meet relevant standards and guidelines + **Technical Leadership:** As the team grows, lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and expertise in engineering principles and aviation-specific knowledge in the aviation regulatory environment **Skills, Experience and Requirements** **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aviation/Aerospace, Mechanical/Structures, Computer Engineering or a related technical field + 7-10 years of experience in Part 25 Certification Engineering + Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g. FAA, EASA) and experience with aircraft design methodologies; familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies (DO-254, DO-160) + A strong working knowledge of the STC process **Skills and Qualifications:** + FAA DER for Systems and Equipment, Structures or able to obtain such delegation + Proficiency in CAD software for design and simulation + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills + Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams + Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance. **Salary Ranges** Compensation: $100,500.00/Hour - $134,000.00/Hour **Benefits** We offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits . The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
