Sr Associate, Cloud DevOps Engineer
ROLE SUMMARY

The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) organization delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The CNSS team represents the Digital Center of Excellence (CoE) for cloud infrastructure capabilities, providing foundational public and private cloud services to all business lines, globally across Pfizer.  CNSS is a high-performing team, focused on delivering secure, scalable, compliant, operationally viable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Working within Digital Hosting Solutions is to be at the cutting edge of cloud technology within the context of the world’s leading biopharmaceutical organization, at a time when adoption of these technologies is increasing rapidly.

We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer, with strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps practices, and cloud application development across multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP). This role provides an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performing team, driving innovation in our public and private cloud services that support all Pfizer’s business lines, globally.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Pfizer Engineers operate with the highest integrity, as CNSS teams often have privileged access to development and production environments. Protecting confidential information, identifying risks, mitigating non-compliance, and adhering to defined policies and procedures are essential.

Collaborate with development teams to design and implement proactive, cloud-native solutions and scalable network infrastructure.

Use Terraform and Python to automate and manage cloud resources across multiple platforms, including AWS and GCP.

Partner with customers and the Support team to troubleshoot and resolve cloud service issues efficiently.

Qualify new AWS services and develop clear, comprehensive implementation workbooks.

Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to streamline deployment and management processes.

Continuously review existing AWS infrastructure to ensure alignment with best practices and security standards.

Research and evaluate new AWS solutions to enhance current systems and support future growth.

Monitor system performance and availability, implementing proactive measures for reliability and resilience.

Engage in business customer communication, understanding needs and guiding solutions that align with organizational goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and software development.

Strong knowledge of public and private cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).

Proficiency in Terraform and Python.

Demonstrated understanding and application of DevOps principles.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications in AWS or GCP (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer).

Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Knowledge of cloud security best practices and application development security.

Understanding of regulatory compliance and security standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
