Summarized Purpose:We are offering an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Sr Applications Administrator (QA). In this role, you will ensure excellence in quality assurance operations, maintaining the highest standards of product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer happiness. Your role is crucial in safeguarding product quality and patient safety through effective team leadership, process optimization, and collaboration.
Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldAround 5+ years of experience working in a QA, validation, or controlled IT environment (GxP/SOX/ISO or similar) is preferredMajor Job Responsibilities:Coordinate, configure, and maintain server and application environments (on-prem and/or cloud) used by CorEvitas team, with a strong focus on QA and reliability.Support and manage test, QA, UAT, and pre-production environments, ensuring they are stable, consistent, and aligned with production configurations.Perform routine system health checks, monitoring, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and efficient response times.Participate in and support system validation activities (e.g., documentation, execution support for IQ/OQ/PQ or equivalent) in partnership with QA and compliance teams.Coordinate and complete patching, upgrades, releases, and configuration changes following established change management and release management processes.Diagnose infrastructure and application problems, conduct root cause investigations, and apply corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when appropriate.Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to improve efficiency, reliability, and consistency.Ensure adherence to ITIL-aligned processes including incident, problem, change, and configuration management.Find opportunities for continuous improvement in tools, processes, and monitoring to elevate service quality and user experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Familiarity with QA/validation practices for IT systems, including documentation, testing, and change control in a regulated or quality-focused environment.Skilled in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation, monitoring, and environment configuration.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a structured and diligent approach to troubleshooting complex issues.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional global teams and collaborators.Must Have skills:Environment and release support for QA – Hands-on experience managing QA/UAT environments, deployments, and coordination across teams to ensure smooth releases.Troubleshooting and performance tuning – Strong ability to diagnose infrastructure, OS, and application issues and implement balanced solutions.Automation and scripting – Practical experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation of routine administrative tasks and validation checks.ITIL / process orientation – Working knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA Service Management, or similar).Good to have skills:Exposure to regulated environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, ISO 27001) and related validation/qualification practices.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).Knowledge of security guidelines, vulnerability management, and coordination with security teams for remediation.Working Hours:India: 05:30 PM to 02:30 AM IST
