**Description** Support the Estée Lauder Corporate strategy for sustainable package development by ensuring packaging is developed to support the corporate vision and guidelines for responsible packaging (responsible material sourcing, responsible manufacturing processes, responsible product stewardship). Responsibilities: Education + Assist senior developer with training the package development, design and marketing staff on sustainable packaging vision and road map, development guidelines and environmental metrics measurement. + Assist senior developer by monitor new package development projects to insure that brands are in compliance. Project Work + Assist senior developers with sustainable packaging projects and solutions that affect all brands of the Estée Lauder Companies. + Enhance the Sustainable Packaging Guidelines by moving goals toward standards for the company. + Research and identify global sources for recycled and renewable materials. + Research and identify suppliers who have capabilities in the area of sustainable packaging. + Follow and promote guidelines for material and process health working with sustainability scorecard. Collaboration + Work with marketing, GSR, Material Science, Corporate Innovations and suppliers to implement sustainable packaging solutions. + Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop manufacturing solutions for sustainable packaging. + Maintain and build relationships in industry to support the corporate sustainable packaging strategy through participation in organizations such as the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, IOPP and APR. Communication + Build a strong working relationship with marketing, GSR, Material Science, Corporate Innovations and the suppliers. + Record corporate and brand achievements against set goals. Project Management + Manage all aspects of the development process on new developments with the brand package developers and or line maintenance developer. + Manage projects through Technical Packaging to ensure design and construction meets all Estée Lauder engineering requirements. + Work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to define specifications, design criteria and defect ranges to ensure optimal process flow from manufacture of components through filling and assembly. + Work with the brand package developer to develop package specifications and validate that technical drawings clearly identify all aspects required to define the package. + Ensure all projects are completed and meet the intended design, quality, cost, functionality, and manufacturability objectives. + Ensure that packages/components meet the needs of the Brand, Corporate, Regulatory and Environmental Legislation, and consumer safety. + With the assistance of senior development, provide a comprehensive feasibility of each concept or package that defines function, manufacturability, component cost, tooling estimates, preliminary development lead time, risk and global consistency. + Keep informed through colleagues, vendors, journals, professional affiliations, and seminars of new materials, processes, and procedures. **Qualifications** + Education: Minimum BS degree in Environmental Science, Packaging Science or Engineering. Direct Experience + 0⁃2 years' experience in cosmetic package development or environmental safety and development. + Experience in beauty or related industry in a technical capacity. Proficiency in computer systems including Unique Package Definition Systems, MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Timeline management systems. Technical Competency + Working knowledge of recycling industry, recycled feed stocks and end of life suppliers. + Technical competency in analysis of geometric objects in 2 and 3 dimensions including understanding of clearances, fit and finish of packaging components and subcomponents. + Basic knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging including but not limited to: molding, forming, components, systems (Pump, Airless), carton and rigid box design. + Basic knowledge of decorating techniques and materials used on primary, secondary and tertiary packaging. + Basic knowledge of test methods used to validate component/package performance.
