Sr Accounting Manager

The Regional Controller – Latin America (P&S Segment) is a critical member of the global finance leadership team and a key business partner to regional leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and local regulatory requirements while driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making across the region.

Reporting to the Global Controller – P&S, this position oversees the preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements, statutory reporting, and compliance activities, while providing financial leadership to support growth in one of the company’s most complex and dynamic regions.

JOB DUTIES:
 

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation for the Latin America region. Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and maquiladora-specific regulatory requirements in Mexico. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, corporate accounting policies, and all local regulatory standards. Lead internal and external audit engagements, providing documentation and ensuring alignment with internal controls. Manage treasury operations for the region and global fixed asset shared services.

Business Partnering & Strategy

Partner with business leaders to align financial support with regional strategy and growth objectives. Provide financial insights, risk analysis, and decision support to enable operational efficiency and value creation. Support cross-functional teams (HR, Trade Compliance, Legal, Payroll, and Sourcing) to ensure compliance with regional permits, labor regulations, and trade requirements.

Controls & Risk Management

Strengthen and monitor internal controls, ensuring full SOX compliance and continuous improvement. Identify risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and ensure the highest standards of ethical business practices. Facilitate recurring pre-close and governance meetings to review accounting implications and align on policy changes.

Leadership & Governance

Serve as legal representative with Power of Attorney (POA) for regional entities in interactions with government and regulatory agencies. Lead, mentor, and develop regional finance teams, building a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement. Champion finance transformation initiatives, including process automation and ERP/reporting system enhancements.


YOU MUST HAVE:

10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership, including U.S. public company experience. Extensive knowledge of maquiladora structures and compliance requirements in Mexico. Strong background in U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal control frameworks. Proven success in leading regional or multinational finance teams. Fluency in English and Spanish required

Demonstrated ability to lead finance transformation initiatives and implement process improvements. Strong executive presence with ability to influence across cultures and functions. Experience in treasury and cash management in complex regulatory environments. Ability to lead through change, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at both executive and operational levels.
