Sr Accountant II

Our team serves as a true partner and advisor to all our business leaders; working with them to accelerate the company’s profitability and growth. **What you’ll be doing** **:** + Partner with other departments to create and maintain processes to properly account for respective areas on the balance sheet. + Ensure sufficient controls are in place with respect to these areas and maintain related SOX narratives. + Compile journal entries monthly and maintain a two-day close. + Analyze accounts monthly through balance sheet reconciliation process. + Review accounts reconciliations completed by Cap Gemini off-shore accounting team + Partner with Cap Gemini off-shore team to process map areas to implement efficiencies in processes + Perform reporting and forecasting for related balance sheet and P&L lines + Partner with other departments to solve more complex accounting issues Support internal and external auditors on audit requests. **What you bring to the table** **:** + Experience working in agency, retail, or professional services environments in finance, accounting and/or billing roles + Experience and/or willingness to learn about external billing & collections platforms + Understanding of multi-step & split path invoicing systems, including ACH/credit card, contract-based invoicing, and direct invoicing + Strong decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills + Excellent organizational skills & attention to details + Outstanding written & verbal communication skills + Knowledge of digital media channels, operations, and online advertising **Qualifications:** **What’s needed- Basic Qualifications** + Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting **What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications** + BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or another related field. + Experience in real estate taxes, fixed assets or capital expense processing. **We Offer** **:** + Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups + Flexible PTO (22 days) and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays) + Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more perks and benefits (https://careers.staples.com/Staples-Life/Benefits) Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
