Job Description A client in the Burlington, Ontario area is looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations for Canada offices, partnering with location managers and stakeholders across 80+ sites. The company is headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, but this individual will see accounting operations across all of Canada. This individual will drive accuracy and timeliness in financial close activities, strengthen controls, and champion automation and continuous improvement to scale our multi‑location operations. Conduct general-ledger account reconciliations, verify data accuracy, and identify and correct errors made by internal and external personnel. Support monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial closes, including preparing assigned journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, accruals, and maintaining operational management accounts. Prepare schedules and commentary for operational management account results and variances, and support the production of working-capital cash‑flow reports. Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets. Prepare special financial reports for senior managers by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Oversee accounting operations for 80+ Canadian locations, partnering with location managers and adapting to varying operational environments. Engage with Canadian stakeholders with a proactive, culturally aware communication style. Identify opportunities to automate accounting tasks and streamline workflows. Collaborate effectively with location managers and cross-functional stakeholders to provide clear, accurate financial support. Operate with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
