Sr Accountant

Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Corporate Sr Accountant to strengthen our Finance & Accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, driving operational transparency, and supporting compliance across the organization. This position supports strategic decision-making through detailed analysis, manages compliance with regulatory standards, and mentor junior staff to uphold operational excellence across the finance function. Success in this role requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office—especially Excel—and hands-on experience with enterprise-level ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QAD.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•\tManage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals

•\tPrepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP

•\tDeliver variance analysis and executive-level commentary on financial performance

•\tEnsure compliance with SOX and internal control frameworks

•\tSupport external audits and prepare required documentation

•\tPartner with cost center managers to improve financial transparency and reporting accuracy

•\tContribute to ERP system optimization and data integrity

•\tMentor junior staff and promote team autonomy in financial transaction recording

•\tAssist in refining SOPs and internal policies for invoice error correction and compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•\tBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance (CPA preferred)

•\tMinimum 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience

•\tStrong understanding of GAAP, SOX, and financial controls

•\tAdvanced Excel skills and ERP system proficiency (QAD a plus)

•\tExcellent communication and analytical skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors in Accounting required, CPA or MBA a plus - strong accounting fundamentals knowledge5 yoe in strong GL accounting, GL coding, month-endStrong debits and credits understanding on how to recordERP - QAD, SAP, Oracle similar cloud-based system- very strong in the GL moduleExcel - strong with formulas, sumifs, pivots, vlookups, understanding how to manipulate datavery strong month-end experience (10 days is their new goal)strong analysis around month-end reporting for different cost centers/departments on their budget vs. actual, variance analysisaccrual accounting, understanding how to record the revenue and differed revenueunderstanding GAAP and internal controls, knowing what SOX is is a plusknowledge of financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, income state and how it all ties togetherStart-up experience a plus - living in the gray as SOPs and processes aren't totally built up yet

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.
