We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialty Accounting team at Marsh Captive Solutions. This role will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We are looking for a senior accountant to prepare and review financial statements and other deliverables relating to a portfolio of captive insurance companies and to assist the team leader with project management.
We will count on you to:
Preparation and review of financial statements, including supplemental financial schedules required by the clientManage deadlines relating to the financial statement and related processesAssist clients in their day-to-day activities and requests, independently and proactivelyManage the annual audit process which can include review of regulatory filings and GAAP financial statementsMaintain and develop client relationships, including identifying and resolving issues and consulting on best practicesCoach, mentor and assist junior staff or new colleagues in their rolesHelp establish and implement standardized financial activities and procedures to improve efficiencyProject managementWhat you need to have:
CPA designation or CPA enrolment is preferred,5+ years equivalent relevant experience on preparation or review of financial statements, working paper files and general ledgerBachelor of Accounting, Business Administrator, or equivalentProficiency with Microsoft office productsWhat makes you stand out:
