How will you make an impact in this role?
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding American Express’s strategic partnerships with issuers throughout Brazil. Your leadership will drive business growth and enhance client engagement by developing innovative value propositions for both consumer and commercial card products, while identifying and securing new business opportunities for the organization.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and manage relationships with both current and prospective issuer partners, building and maintaining strong connections with C-level executives and cross-functional teams within client and prospect organizations.
Identify and drive implementation of portfolio optimization opportunities by partnering with internal areas and external partners. Proactively understand and leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform strategy and accelerate business results
Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements that deliver mutual benefits for Amex and its partners.
Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment with broader business growth objectives.
Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within your team and the organization.
Operate with a robust risk mindset, maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring that every action upholds Amex’s commitment to trust, security, and service.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Sales and Business Development.
At least 5 years’ experience in the Payments Industry.
Extensive knowledge of Brazil’s payment ecosystem.
Consultative selling approach with a results-driven mindset
Strong focus on customer satisfaction and portfolio growth
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across teams
Deep understanding of card portfolio management metrics
Self-leadership and maturity, with flexibility and patience in dynamic environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with corporate clients and internal stakeholders
Fluent English required
Spanish proficiency highly desirable
