The Sponsorship & Community Coordinator provides specialized technical support for the Area Programme to enhance Child Sponsorship. They are responsible for achieving results through influence and collaboration.
The Sponsorship & Community Coordinator contributes specialized knowledge in three key areas: A) Sponsorship in Programming, including child participation and protection; B) Sponsor and child engagement; and C) Business Process and Systems Management.
In each of these areas, their role includes: 1) Providing technical knowledge; 2) Building capacity; 3) Supporting planning and implementation; and 4) Ensuring quality assurance.

Sponsorship Management and Coordination
Quality implementation and management of Child Sponsorship: To bring specialised technical guidance and support to encourage and enable excellence in Child Sponsorship at the AP level in all areas, including programming, sponsor communications, children’s transformative experience of child sponsorship, and successful outcomes in their lives.Integration of child sponsorship in DME and annual plans: Provide Sponsorship in Programming technical support to APs to ensure integration of sponsorship within TPs and CESP, and ensure all RCs are actively and meaningfully participating in and benefiting from programme activities. RC & MVC Participation: All RCs are participating according to standards. MVC inclusion is included in activities and child sponsorship, where appropriate.Child protection and safeguarding: Ensure compliance with the Child Protection Policy, implementation of Child Protection strategies, standards, protocols, and strengthening committees.Technical interventions to ensure child sponsorship meets standards, requirements, and protocols: Provide problem-solving and technical input, business process reviews, and capacity-building skills to equip APs to address and manage challenges in meeting all required standards.Strengthening quality assurance: Build AP capacity to manage quality assurance effectively across all their sponsorship outputs.30%
Sponsorship in Programming
Facilitate the alignment of Child Sponsorship programming with the strategic priorities of the Global Center and Support Offices—including the Sponsorship Foundational Program (SFP)—by integrating core elements such as child well-being, Adaptive Program Approach, Sponsorship Initiatives (SI), child protection, and child participation into Area Program operations and planning.SiP Technical guidance: Provide technical guidance to assure the quality of SiP. Assists AP teams to review the quality of Sponsorship in Programming annually using the SiP Reflection tool; analyses and works with FO to develop a support plan accordingly.Community engagement and sponsorship education: Support APs in message development and in their capacity to assess the effectiveness of ongoing messaging that is responsive to gaps in community understanding.Sponsorship Risk Management: Supports AP in assuring that sponsorship risk management strategies are applied and adjusted as necessary.Community-led care & protection: Provides technical support and capacity building to integrate child sponsorship selection and monitoring as part of the community’s protection systems.Child Selection: Child Selection: Supports AP in planning for and delivering ongoing child selection as part of community-led care and protection.Child monitoring: Provides technical input and capacity building to ensure monitoring processes and systems are integrated through the CWB Committee, including volunteer arrangements.Responsible for a specific number of RC at the community level, depending on AP plan, Life span, and budgeting.Provides support to assure implementation of the Integrated monitoring plan, implementation management – Data quality, data entry, monitoring, tracking, exception reports, follow-up reports.Assures that the incorporation of child protection standards in sponsorship processes.Regularly generates reports and keep the AP Manager and AP team informed on the status of monitoring.Child participation and voice: Provides subject matter expertise for integration of sponsorship requirements with the development process and child participation.Technical support for the Integrated Activity Plan and annual planning to link sponsorship requirements with project or other activities.Supports the AP team in providing analytical data to make informed decisions on the AP plan and integrating activities with all Children.RC Projection and Inclusion: Provides SiP technical support to APs to ensure integration of sponsorship within TPs and CESP, and to ensure RC from all age groups have relevant activitiesProvides technical support to RC projection and allocation for inventory management to ensure RCs are selected only in active Primary Focus Areas.Provides technical support during annual planning to strengthen community ownership of child protection and participation. Sponsor and Community Engagement
Communicate clearly about World Vision (WV)'s identity, mission, vision, values, and our approach to development, including child sponsorship as part of a broader community engagement process.Sponsor communications: Provides technical support and capacity building for APs in the planning and delivery of child sponsorship communications. They ensure processes with children are child-friendly and build child participation and child voice within the community. Provides support to quality assurance to ensure sponsorship communications are engaging, meaningful, and delivered in a timely manner.Rich media: Provides capacity building and technical support in the use of devices and techniques for capturing quality rich media. Provides technical support to Area Programmes’ quality assurance to ensure quality media.10%
Business process and systems management
Sponsorship standards: Provides technical support and capacity building to ensure efficient and effective sponsorship operations. Generate and review SSUI reports to ensure high quality of service to children and sponsors, and KPIs are maintained as per standard.Business Process improvement: Reviews to assure quality and efficiency of business processes to ensure child sponsorship standards are met. Provides technical support when SOIs are not being met, including review of business process effectiveness.System support: Provides secondary support for sponsorship systems such as SSUI/Horizon.Ensures all APs maintain inventoryRC record management is current and accurate.10%
Capacity Building and Collaboration
Coordinate and support capacity building for AP staff, children, youth, volunteers, community in sponsorship processes, sponsorship programming, child engagement, sponsor features, and digital and technical expertise.Organize refresher courses on sponsorship, child protection, and safeguardingCollaborate in and support local-level advocacy and campaign efforts related to child protection, WASH, ENOUGH initiative, and climate change, ensuring alignment with program priorities and community engagement.Collaborate/support with the relevant team to share local needs/project ideas that promote the well-being of the most vulnerable children in both target and non-target areas.Support local fundraising initiatives such as M2M, corporate engagement, and one-time events at both local and national levels.5%

Actively participate in relevant capacity-building initiatives (online or in-person) and spiritual development activities such as devotions and chapels.
