SPM Sr Business Analyst

Description

The Sales Performance Management Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and the Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) technology team. This role will focus on capturing and translating incentive plan changes, business requirements, and operational needs into clear, standardized technical documentation that enables timely and accurate delivery of ICM solutions. 

This position directly addresses current organizational gaps where data engineers and ICM developers are required to perform business analysis themselves. By owning this translation layer, the SBA ensures efficiency, reduces rework, and enables consistent handoffs that support scalable and sustainable ICM operations.

Primary responsibilities include:Business Analysis & Requirements Translation

• Partner with Incentive Administration, Business Support, and Line of Business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document incentive plan changes and requirements.

• Translate business objectives into detailed functional and technical specifications consumable by ICM engineers and data teams.

• Facilitate design sessions and backlog grooming to ensure priorities are clearly defined and business impacts are understood.

Documentation & Standardization

• Develop and maintain standardized templates for plan design, handoffs, and requirements gathering.

• Ensure documentation supports audit readiness, transparency, and repeatability across all incentive processes.

• Establish governance for documentation consistency across the ICM team.

Process & Collaboration

• Act as a liaison between business partners and technology teams to drive joint prioritization, retrospectives, and MVP optimization.

• Support relentless prioritization of incentive projects and enhancements to ensure alignment with business goals.

• Contribute to the foundational reference data repository, ensuring that core plan design elements and requirements are easily accessible.

Team Enablement & Efficiency

• Reduce reliance on data engineers and ICM developers for frontline business analysis by owning the translation and intake process.

• Identify and recommend process improvements that close gaps between plan design, documentation, and technology build requirements.

• Help foster a shared services model for business analysis that can scale across the ICM organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in business analysis or process management, ideally supporting incentive compensation, sales performance management, or financial systems.

• Strong capability in requirements gathering, process documentation, and business-to-technical translation.

• Familiarity with incentive compensation systems (e.g., Varicent, Callidus, Xactly) strongly preferred.

• Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.

• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills with a focus on repeatability, scalability, and governance.

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40 hours a week

Work Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Eastern time zone

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $94,863- $142,295 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
