Job Description

We are seeking experienced and dependable cooks to join our team in a health facility's kitchen. This back-of-house position is responsible for preparing every meal served in the hospital, which can accommodate 700+ individuals daily. Candidates must be capable of handling **high-volume, high-batch cooking** in a fast-paced, large-scale environment. Reliability and consistent attendance are essential to keeping the kitchen operating smoothly.

Responsibilities

Prepare large-batch meals to serve hospital patients, staff, and visitors.Work exclusively in the back of house, without interacting with front-of-house operations.Accurately read and follow recipes and meal tickets to ensure quality and consistency.Follow strict health, safety, and sanitation protocols.Maintain open availability for an 8-hour shift between 5:30AM and 9PM.Adapt to rotating weekend shifts in addition to Monday through Friday.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of experience in large-scale or commercial cooking.Ability to read and interpret recipes and meal tickets precisely.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience in high-end restaurants, hotels, schools, or healthcare kitchens preferred.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and high-demand service expectations.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a hospital kitchen with an intense, fast-moving pace. You’ll be working in cool, wet conditions typical of commercial kitchens, preparing meals for hundreds each day. Shifts can start as early as 5:30AM or end as late as 9PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spencer, Oklahoma.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
