BayCare is currently in search of our newest Speech Therapist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. At Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center Ptak, our 120-bed center offers physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapy along with skilled nursing, wound care, pain management and many other services. Specialized procedures and programs are available for neurological, cardiac, orthopedic, osteoporosis and arthritis patients as well as those with complex medical conditions.

Speech Therapist Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients to determine the presence and severity of speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.Provide therapy to patients with conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, cognitive-linguistic impairments, and dysphagia.Conduct instrumental and non-instrumental swallow assessments (e.g., bedside swallow exams; if certified, participate in FEES or VFSS studies).Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing.Document all evaluations, treatments, and patient progress in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and contribute to discharge planning.Adhere to ethical and evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology.Maintain licensure and stay updated on current practices and regulatory requirements.Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payer guidelines specific to SNF settings.
