Atlantic Health is searching for a well-qualified CCC-SLP for their inpatient units at Hackettstown and Newton Medical Center. The Speech‑Language Pathologist II provides advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with communication, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders in an acute‑care hospital setting. This role manages a diverse caseload, including medically complex patients, and collaborates closely with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation staff, and care management to support safe and effective recovery. 

Key Responsibilities

Independently evaluate and treat patients with dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive‑communication deficits, and other speech‑language disorders. Perform instrumental assessments such as FEES or video fluoroscopic swallow studies. Develop, implement, and modify patient‑centered treatment plans based on clinical findings and best practices. Document evaluations and progress notes in accordance with hospital, regulatory, and professional standards. Provide education to patients, families, and clinical team members regarding communication and swallowing safety. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to discharge planning. Mentor students, new hires, and other staff as needed.
