Pathologist SLP to join our outpatient rehabilitation team specializing in the evaluation and treatment of patients with Head and Neck Cancer This role focuses on providing evidence based care to individuals experiencing speech voice and swallowing difficulties due to cancer and its treatments including surgery radiation and chemotherapy The ideal candidate will be passionate about oncology rehabilitation and committed to improving patient outcomes and quality of lifeKey ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive evaluations of speech language voice cognition and swallowing function for patients with Head and Neck Cancer in an outpatient settingDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patientrsquos medical history cancer treatment stage and functional goalsProvide therapeutic interventions for dysphagia aphonia dysarthria and other communication disorders related to cancer and its treatmentDeliver pre treatment education and counseling for patients undergoing radiation or surgical procedures including total laryngectomy and tracheostomyConduct instrumental assessments such as FEES and videofluoroscopic swallow studies VFSS when appropriateCollaborate with oncologists otolaryngologists dietitians and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive careEducate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing techniques voice restoration options eg electrolarynx voice prosthesis and communication strategiesDocument patient progress treatment outcomes and discharge planning in accordance with care and familiarity with oncology care pathwaysProficiency in conducting and interpreting instrumental swallowing assessmentsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient centered approach to carePreferred SkillsExperience with tracheostomy and laryngectomy managementKnowledge of AAC devices and voice prosthesis optionsFamiliarity with survivorship programs and long term
