Position Overview
Amergis Staffing is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive evaluation and therapy services for elementary students. The SLP will work on-site and serve as a key resource to teachers, staff, and families by supporting students with speech, language, voice, and hearing impairments to ensure they can fully access the district’s educational programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, the ability to develop effective IEPs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, voice, hearing, and language impairments.
+ Provide individualized therapy programs tailored to each student’s needs.
+ Offer screening services at required intervals to identify students with potential speech or language impairments.
+ Assist teachers in identifying and referring students with suspected communication disorders.
+ Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student needs and physician orders.
+ Maintain accurate and ongoing documentation for each student receiving services.
+ Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate therapy strategies into daily instruction.
+ Provide consultation, information, and support to parents and families.
+ Serve as a resource for school staff on communication needs, speech development, and hearing impairments.
+ Maintain lists of referred, screened, and eligible students and keep updated directories of outside agencies and specialists.
+ Assist in referring students to external agencies when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
+ Active Tennessee SLP License – REQUIRED
+ At least 1 year of experience in a school setting – REQUIRED
+ CCC-SLP preferred (may be required per contract/state)
+ Must comply with all professional standards of practice
+ CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (if required by state/contract)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years old
Work Environment
+ On-site only — no virtual or hybrid options
+ Contracted to one school only
+ Will work alongside:
+ 1 full-time SLP
+ 1 part-time SPLA
