Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Perris, CA Location: Perris, CA Schedule: 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM | Monday–Friday Hours: 35 hours/week Contract Length: 20 weeks Start Date: ASAP – End of School Year Openings: 1 Exclusive to Amergis: Yes Position Overview The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) supports the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in delivering high-quality speech and language services. Working under the supervision of a licensed SLP, the SLPA participates in clinical, educational, therapeutic, and documentation-related tasks aligned with each client’s plan of care and within the scope of practice defined by state regulations. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational environment while collaborating closely with a supportive therapy team. Responsibilities + Assist the supervising SLP in implementing treatment plans for individuals with speech, language, and communication needs. + Conduct therapy sessions and activities delegated by the SLP. + Document client progress, maintain service logs, and prepare treatment materials. + Support IEP or plan-of-care goals as established by the supervising SLP. + Communicate effectively with clients, families, staff, and clinical supervisors. + Adhere to federal, state, local, and professional standards of practice. + Perform additional duties within the SLPA scope of practice as assigned. Minimum Requirements + Graduate of an SLPA program with an associate degree OR bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field. + Completion of at least 100 hours of supervised clinical fieldwork (or equivalent required by state regulations). + Current SLPA licensure or certification in the State of California. + Compliance with all applicable professional standards of practice. + One (1) year of SLPA experience preferred. + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable. + Current health certificate (as required by state or contract). + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
