Position Summary:
The Speech Pathologist participates as a member of the health care team working with professional non-professional staff and associated professionals in providing care which provides optimum home care and continuity of care to referred patients addressing the age of the patients served.

Minimum Qualifications:
Long-term care experience1 year experience as a speech therapistCurrent licensure by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance as a speech and language pathologistCurrent BLS CPR certification (Must be through the American Heart Association)Knowledge and ability to perform a speech pathology assessment and evaluationKnowledge of principles, concepts, diagnostic, and therapeutic techniques for speech therapyAbility to implement practical application of knowledgeAbility to function independently and autonomouslyAbility to communicate in writing and verbally in EnglishAbility to teach and instruct patient family and staffPreferred Qualifications:

Where You'll WorkMercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate three Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.
