Speech Language Pathologist

**Responsibilities**
In support of the mission and vision of CHI St. Francis, speech language pathologists provide evaluations, care planning, direct treatment and work as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Care planning, patient/care-giver education, positive and professional physician and payer communication is expected in this role. Individuals in this role assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults and children. This role requires a strong knowledge and application of applicable laws, regulation and professional standards as it relates to speech language pathology service delivery.
**Essential Key Job Responsibilities**
+ _Provides speech language evaluations, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources._
+ _Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals._
+ _Is knowledgeable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law._
+ _Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures_
+ _Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of speech language practice in a medical setting._
+ _In support of the academic health mission of the organization, periodically accepts assignment of student clinical education at all levels of clinical training._
+ _Completes all mandatory education requirements around patient safety, quality security, infection prevention assigned by established timeframes and consistently demonstrates competency in daily practice._
+ _Other duties as assigned by management_
**Qualifications**
Masters from an accredited Speech Language Pathology School
Active speech therapy license in the state of Minnesota
Basic life support
Must obtain CCC status from American Speech Language Association within 18 months of hire
**Preferred**
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) completed

**Pay Range**
$30.91 - $45.98 /hour
