Special Education Teacher – Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM Hours: 37.5 hours/week Contract Length: 4 months Start Date: February 23, 2026 Grade Levels: K–5 Openings: 1 Position Overview The Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instructional and behavioral support to K–12 students under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator. This role requires strong collaboration with general education staff and a commitment to individualized instruction, behavioral support, and student growth. This assignment is for a Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) at the elementary level, serving students with a variety of disabilities and complex social-emotional and behavioral needs. Classroom & Program Details + Elementary SLC (K–5) + Focus on social-emotional and behavioral regulation + Small caseload of 7 students + Structured environment with meaningful inclusion opportunities when students are ready + Emphasis on individualized supports, routines, and evidence-based practices Responsibilities + Provide specially designed instruction aligned with student IEPs + Support students with emotional regulation, behavior management, and academic needs + Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff + Maintain structured routines and positive behavior supports + Document progress and participate in IEP meetings + Facilitate inclusion opportunities as appropriate Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred) + Valid state teaching certificate per district/state regulations + Preferred certifications: + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement + At least one year of teaching experience (preferred) + CPR certification (if applicable) + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable) + Current health certificate (if required) + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years old Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
