The Spectrum Internship Experience
You’ll join one of our newsrooms for the semester, where you will build a strong understanding of reporting, producing, and other departments that are of interest to you.
What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum News intern, we have a variety of areas that you can spend the semester learning and working alongside our staff in the areas that are of interest to you.
Internship responsibilities may include
Pitch, research, and develop storiesAssist with live shows and field productionLearn professional editing, shooting, and writingWork with reporters, producers, editors, and digital teamsSupport daily newsroom operationsGain exposure to multiple tracks, including:Reporting / MMJ (Multimedia Journalist)Editorial & Story DevelopmentDigital & Audience EngagementProduction & Control Room OperationsWriting & ResearchRequired qualifications

The base pay for this position generally is between $NaN,000.00 and $NaN,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
