Job Description

Join our team as a Specimen Processor where you will play a crucial role in managing and processing laboratory specimens in a high-capacity, regulated environment. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a level 1 trauma center.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in maintaining supplies, helping with inventory, and placing orders.Manage client test results according to established procedures.Utilize the electronic health record (EHR), laboratory information system (LIS), and client software to efficiently complete daily tasks.Monitor test pending logs using LIS and communicate with technical staff to ensure timely testing.Perform all specimen processing functions according to laboratory protocol.Conduct urine collections for urine drug screens and complete proper paperwork.Operate laboratory equipment with applicable training and supervisor approval.Essential SkillsExperience with centrifuge operation and specimen processing.Proficiency in aseptic techniques.Skills in labeling and accessioning in a laboratory setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma required.Minimum of 6 months lab experience.Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).BLS/CPR Certification.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
