The Specimen Processor plays a critical role in the laboratory workflow by ensuring accurate and efficient handling of patient samples. This position involves receiving and organizing incoming specimens, verifying documentation, and preparing samples for testing using automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, unpack, and organize incoming specimen shipmentsVerify sample and requisition form accuracy; flag discrepanciesAccurately enter patient demographic and test information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)Label specimens according to testing requirementsOperate automated aliquoting and sample preparation equipmentPerform manual pipetting and blood sample handlingConduct sample preparation proceduresMaintain and follow daily decontamination protocolsResolve sample-related issues in coordination with the Customer Care teamMonitor and restock laboratory supplies to ensure workflow continuityEnsure compliance with all safety and quality standardsRequired Skills:Specimen processing and documentationSample collection and labelingLaboratory Information System (LIS) data entryPipetting and sample preparationAccessioning and laboratory workflow managementQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to follow written instructions preciselyTyping speed of 45 WPM with high accuracyComputer literacy and comfort with data entryEffective communication and teamwork skillsAdaptability in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to patient care and safetyProblem-solving skills and initiativeExperience Level:Entry LevelPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
