We will also give you the chance to expand and grow your skills, all while working alongside some of the most talented veterinary professionals within our Surgery and Internal Medicine Teams. **Pay:** $20.00 - $40.00 / hour **This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system** . **Shift: Rotating weekly day shift:** + Week 1: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM + Week 2: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM **As a Specialty Veterinary Technician, you will:** + Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). + Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.). + Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures. + Monitoring Anesthesia + Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure. + Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations. + Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. + Utilize their ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein. + Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. + Able to set up intravenous fluids. + Administers subcutaneous fluids. + Can operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. + Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically. + Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload. _BluePearl is committed to a diverse work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
