Specialty Pharmacy Technician

As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician, you'll work in a team environment to exceed our patients' expectations through the delivery of excellent, accurate, and efficient Specialty Pharmacy services. You will provide great customer service and role model service standards, including working closely with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Interns, and RxEACH center Partners. PASSION FOR RESULTS... an ability to communicate and collaborate to get the job done? We are looking for: - Registered Pharmacy Technician - strong communication skills What is the work? Operations & Administration: - Enters prescription data into Pharmacy computer systems - Receives / processes prescriptions and orders from customers and prescribers using RxEVO computer system - Processes refill prescription using the SpecialtyExpress refill program - Affixes backtags to all hardcopies - Processes third-party prescriptions; manages adjudication reviews - Completes benefits verification / obtains prior authorizations on prescriptions - Ensures each patient has an updated enrollment form with clinical information (including Tuberculosis test); faxes the correct form to prescriber, as needed - Performs 'Return to Stock' once per week - Manages UPS exceptions - Processes Customer payments through point-of-sale (POS) - Assists in running OutBound Dialer daily; documents in RxEVO under Rx Documentation - Scans the Pharmacy Patient Authorization of Disclosure Form and Authorization of Benefits Form into RxEVO - Processes invoices on a timely basis - Troubleshoots computer issues and prescription application overview - Assists with maintenance and upkeep of facility - Processes Customer and prescription information into Asembia1 system to ensure proper therapy and reporting Customer Service: - Contacts patients within 24 hours after receiving an order for a new patient - Communicates with Specialty patients to coordinate care and make outbound adherence / follow up calls - Researches financial assistance programs and options available to ensure patient can afford prescriptions - Processes coordination of benefits claims, as needed, to ensure the lowest copay for the Customer - Schedules delivery of prescriptions to patient to ensure timely arrival and no interruption of therapy - Communicates with healthcare professionals / insurance / other third-party payers to service Specialty patients and their prescriptions Compliance: - Understands / applies H-E-B Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knows where to access them - Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by HIPAA - Ensures integrity of cold chain management by verifying delivery dates to patient - Verifies complete patient information to input into the computer system - Completes Pleio calls and other patient adherence / compliance calls for the RxEACH Center when needed What is your background? - Minimum 18 years of age (mandatory) - High school diploma or equivalent - Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration - 3+ years of retail Pharmacy experience (preferred) - 2+ years of Specialty Pharmacy experience (preferred) - Completion of company Total Store Orientation training, POS training, RxEVO 501 & 502 training, Asembia1 & ASPEN training, HIPAAA training, and any other required training Do you have what it takes to be a Specialty Pharmacy Technician at H-E-B? - Understanding of core specialty Pharmacy services, including benefits verification, COB, financial assistance, adherence programs, and cold chain management - Understanding of Asembia1 ASPEN system for transferring prescriptions between Specialty Pharmacy, ASPEN network - Strong problem-solving skills - Strong communication skills and phone etiquette - Computer skills (MS Office, H-E-B Intranet) - Mathematical skills - Bi-lingual skills (English - Spanish) skills (preferred) - Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks - Welcomes working in a team-oriented environment and is open to cross-training Can you... - Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment - Stand / sit for extended periods (up to 12 hours) - Regularly lift up to 30 lbs - Work rotating shifts to include weekends; remain flexible to the needs of the business - Use arms / hands in repetitive motion during the day, requiring hand / finger dexterity - Meet specific vision requirements by this job, including close vision and color vision - Renew TSBP Technician registration every 2 years, 60 days prior to expiration (required) - Maintain 20 hours of Continuing Education every 2 years (required) 03-2018
