Description:Full time RN in fast paced clinical setting. Multi-tasking and exceptional organizational skills are required. Working in a team environment as well as comfortable working on your own.

The ENT Clinic RN is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients of all ages within the ENT specialty, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves assisting physicians with in-office procedures, educating patients on their conditions and treatment plans, managing patient flow, and performing various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Assessment:Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms, specific to ENT conditions.Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy.Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, topical, nasal, otic) as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.Perform wound care, ear irrigation, and other ENT-specific treatments.Assist physicians with in-office procedures such as biopsies, endoscopies, cerumen removal, and minor surgical procedures.Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions and care.Monitor patient vital signs and condition during and after procedures, reporting any changes to the physician.Patient Education & Support:Educate patients and their families on ENT diagnoses, treatment plans, medication administration, and self-care techniques (e.g., proper use of nasal sprays, ear drops, post-operative care instructions).Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.Answer patient questions regarding their care in a clear and understandable manner.Clinical Operations & Coordination:Manage patient flow efficiently, ensuring timely appointments and minimizing wait times.Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and stocking of supplies.Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient education.Coordinate appointments, referrals to other specialists, and diagnostic tests.Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations as needed.Handle telephone inquiries and provide nursing advice within scope of practice.Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic meetings.Stock and order medical supplies as needed.Collaboration & Communication:Work collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, medical assistants, front desk staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.Report critical lab values and diagnostic findings to the physician promptly.

Qualifications:

Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of IowaAssociate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Proficiency in using EPIC preferred.Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Compassionate, patient-focused, and detail-oriented.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
