Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech **We are searching for the best talent for Specialist Technician EHS.** **Purpose:** Under the direction of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, the Senior EHS Technician serves as the technical expert in areas of Environmental, Permit to Work System, EHS Risk Assessments, incident investigations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s), management of change and internal EHS inspections for the Site. Support managing of ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 Certification processes as requested. Ensures all EHS related records and equipment is properly maintained, prepared, and submitted in a timely manner. In addition, support EHS audits and inspections, recommendations, and process improvements. **You will be responsible for** **:** + Manages the hazardous, non-hazardous, medical, and universal waste compliance, including but not limited to waste characterization, waste inventory, waste disposal shipment coordination, among others. + Responsible for the recycling program of the plant and ensures to complete and submit regulatory quarterly reports. + Ensures that appropriate regulatory permits (air, Wellwater Franchise, Stormwater NOE, Wastewater discharge authorization, Biomedical waste, among others) are current and in compliance. + Gather and monitor environmental data for reports, trending, and compliance. + Under the supervision of the EHS Manager, prepares required regulatory reports and ensures timely and accurate submission. + Prepare schedule, coordinate, and follow-up on external laboratory services for sampling activities. + Collaborate with site management on regulatory compliance and corporate audits, internal assessment in conformance with the standard and regulatory compliance as needed and assure execution of action plans. + Support accident/incident investigations. + Support the Permit-to-Work System; this includes the development, implementation, maintenance, and process confirmation of the system. + Responsible for issuance of work permits such as hot work, confined spaces, work at height, critical lift, among others. + Monitors Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS) performance of external contractors and establishes control requirements in case of deficiencies detected. + Conduct management of change (MOC) evaluation for projects as well as other changes and ensure requirements are closed prior to release of project. **Qualifications / Requirements:** + High School diploma is required. + Associate Degree Engineering/Technical, Science, or EHS discipline is preferred + A minimum of six (6) years related experience in Medical Devices & Diagnostics Pharmaceutical and/or Consumer industry is required. + Preferred completion of EHS compliance trainings (ie. RCRA, 30-Hour OSHA, DOT, HAZWOPER) + Knowledge of environmental and safety program components is required. + Good oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish is required. + Must be able to consistently get around the facilities. + Must be able and capable of lifting objects during inspections or as required. + Knowledge of contractor safety and regulations and programs is required.
