Specialist Supervisor

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. Reporting to the Operations manager, this position leads the development of specialists for a segment of the business, consisting of key accounts and new customers.  This position manages and coaches’ system specialists that directly report to this individual for the Northern Virigina Data Center team.

 Essential Functions:  An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

Mentor and train system specialists to improve communication skills, documentation, professionalism, and overall technical ability. Provide specific and timely performance management for all direct reports to include but not limited to SMART targets, reviews, feedback, training, mentoring, coaching. Assess all direct reports against a standard of excellence and identify specific areas of improvement. Drive technical engagement, training, and development of assigned direct reports. Provide direct oversight of the field team to ensure schedules are maintained and construction projects proceed as directed by project and operations management. Recruit, hire and retain assigned direct reports. Participate with sales team in project estimates prior to sales booking. Ensure that the correct resources are identified and involved. Maintain a current and thorough understanding of Automated Logic and building automation systems as it applies to Albireo Energy and the industry. Assists the operations team in identifying opportunities. Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with management’s vision, mission, and objectives. Develop project specific labor plans in conjunction with project managers. Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies. Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiency. Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance. Drive a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business. Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs to building-automation-system field cabinets, including communication devices, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers. Safely perform point-to-point checkout per department standards, e.g., use multimeter to check continuity and/or resistance of sensors, verifying sensors with calibrated meters, breaking connection at end devices to verify IO channel assignments, verifying valve stroke and fail positions, etc. Take initiative and responsibility for the checkout of end devices, controller configuration, and troubleshooting network related issues. Responsible for the startup of simple to complex automation systems and mechanical equipment. Able to make complex program changes to meet specification and sequence. Perform necessary database tasks such as backups, troubleshooting and exporting of files. Maintain company tools, test equipment, and material. Creates thorough daily reports. Works with commissioning agent to demonstrate system functionality. Take part in solutions-based discussions with owners and project stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
