The Patient Access Representative facilitates patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This role is responsible for collecting and verifying financial and demographic information to ensure accurate records that support both reimbursement and clinical outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
Greeting and scheduling patient appointments
Explaining departmental and hospital charges and policies
Validating and entering insurance information into appropriate systems
Collecting necessary payments
Scanning medical records into electronic medical records systems
Qualifications:Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
Relevant experience in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10, CPT)
Ability to interpret insurance information
Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
