Reagent Specialist
Position Description
The Supply Chain Reagent Specialist plays a critical role in KGM operations by overseeing the entire lifecycle of chemical reagents, from procurement and logistics to inventory management and on-site distribution. This role ensures a seamless flow of necessary chemicals to support processing demands while minimizing costs, maximizing efficiency, and adhering strictly to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
Manage the transportation of all reagents to the mining site, including coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, and managing freight costs.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational demands while avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
Oversee warehousing operations, ensuring all reagents are stored safely and in compliance with safety standards for hazardous materials.
Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy in allocation and consumption data, utilizing ERP or SCM software.
Develop, update, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for reagent management, logistics, and handling.
Ensure full compliance with all local and international health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations related to the storage and transportation of chemicals. Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards
Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., disruptions, quality issues) and develop robust contingency plans to mitigate them.…….
Analyze supply chain data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support the company's continuous improvement goals.
Prepare detailed reports on inventory balances, costs, and spend for management and relevant business functions.
Qualification Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required, with a degree in public health, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering being beneficial.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
Usually requires 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management or a similar role, ideally within a relevant industry such as mining or chemical.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in supply chain management (SCM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is expected, along with strong data analysis skills and knowledge of international trade and customs procedures.
Soft Skills: Essential skills include strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities, as well as attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
