Job Description:
Lead activities related to new product development including planning, estimating, designing, peer review, integration, and release by leveraging software development practices. Partner with the product owners and development team to ensure that all requirements and specification of embedded software subsystems are defined. Work with the team to strategically investigate, leverage, and deploy industry standard techniques to help stage new product development and improve quality/efficiency/collaboration. Participate in system interface design activities and help conduct design reviews with all stakeholders. Assist in DevOps activities for embedded software delivery by extending CI-CD pipelines for each new product releases. Effectively communicate plans, estimates, risks, and status on product development to the leadership team. Collaborate with external and internal customers, such as Marketing, Service, Operations, and other engineering teams throughout the product development life cycle. Coordinate activities with other functional areas, production, and Eaton’s CoE (Center of Excellence) i.e., cyber security, platform, connectivity. Engage with other embedded software teams throughout Eaton to promote reuse and knowledge sharing. Investigate areas of gaps in project execution process and contribute to continuous improvements and road-mapping activities. Facilitate productivity by removing impediments teams will encounter, mediating through conflicts, helping team to make decisions, and adhering to continuous improvements principles. Apply knowledge of Systems Thinking to help develop analog and digital circuit design, microprocessors, firmware development, and digital signal processing. Position is fixed based in Franksville office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be allowed up to 50% of the time. 20% international and domestic travel for business meetings and seminars.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a directly related field plus eight (8) years of experience in embedded systems or embedded software development. Experience must include:
