We are seeking qualified and experienced candidates for multiple Specialist – Maintenance Dispatch positions at New Porgera Limited.

About the role

This key role supports mobile fleet availability and reliability by managing performance data, coordinating breakdowns, and working closely with the maintenance team. Reporting to the Mobile Engineering Superintendent, this is a unique opportunity to improve mobile reliability and optimization in an operation committed to safety, visible leadership and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities within the role include:

Schedule and allocate maintenance tasks, ensuring priorities are addressed Monitor fleet data, troubleshoot remotely, and manage SAP work orders Develop and oversee preventative maintenance plans to reduce downtime Coordinate with operations, procurement, and engineering teams Ensure safety, compliance, and environmental standards are met Identify improvement opportunities in performance, cost, and processes Support and train the maintenance team on best practices

NPL operates in a complex environment that requires the successful applicant to be a self-starter, with strong ability in delivery to support the mines successful operation whilst coordinating the efforts of your team members and third-party contractors to complete projects according to plan in a timely and safe manner.

About you

NPL have a supportive and dynamic culture.  You will be a natural self-starter who will bring initiative and ideas to the team, setting clear accountabilities and support with a focus on safely supporting production. Given the dynamic environment, you must demonstrate agility and an ability to work effectively under pressure, understand and meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

A bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or operational exposure supported by time-served trade experienced with proven experience of technology rollout and implementation Proven experience in mine operations, dispatch, or logistics Proficiency in dispatch software and tracking systems, particularly Modular Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in mining operation

Key Competencies:

Safety Leadership: A proactive safety advocate with a strong commitment to hazard identification, incident reporting, and investigation participation. Prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of both people and the environment is essential. Technical Expertise: Relevant mechanical engineering trade or tertiary qualifications, with demonstrated experience in large open-pit mining operations, particularly with Caterpillar and Sandvik fleets. Leadership & Communication: Minimum of 5 years’ proven leadership experience, capable of motivating teams and driving operational excellence. Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels. Systems Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, with experience using SAP, Oil Commander, Mine Star, One View, and Modular. A sound understanding of planning principles is also required.

This role is offered on a FIFO basis either from Papua New Guinea or Australia/New Zealand with a 21/14 roster on a contract basis with a highly competitive remuneration package.
