Job Summary

We are seeking a Compensation Specialist to join our global Total Rewards team during a pivotal period of transformation. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape and streamline our compensation infrastructure by advancing a recently refreshed job architecture framework.

The Compensation Specialist will help support cross-functional and global continuous improvement initiatives using the job framework to drive consistency, support strategic goals and enhance employee experience. Key responsibilities include evaluating, analyzing, and optimizing compensation programs and strategies to attract, retain, and motivate talent. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and leadership to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Architecture: Understand and actively reinforce Nordson’s Job Architecture framework. Support the design and evolution of compensation programs by leveraging the framework to drive simplification, consistency, and standardization across the organization.Job Evaluation & Market Analysis: Conduct thorough job evaluations and deliver strategic guidance to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to ensure alignment with the job architecture framework while promoting internal equity and maintaining market competitiveness in compensation practices.Regional Support: Serve as a key point of contact for HR teams across the Americas region (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, United States), providing day-to-day guidance on compensation-related inquires and ensuring consistent application of policies and practices.Compensation Projects: Contribute to a variety of compensation-related initiatives, including ad-hoc analyses and strategic projects that support business needs and enhance compensation program effectiveness.Market Data & Surveys: Maintain accurate and current compensation data, including salary benchmarks and market intelligence. Participate in compensation and HR surveys to inform competitive pay practices.Annual Compensation Cycle: Support the execution of the annual compensation planning processes, including merit increases and incentive programs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations, including FLSA classification and pay transparency requirements. Regularly audit compensation data in Workday HCM to ensure accuracy, investigate and resolve discrepancies.Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide subject matter expert guidance and support to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, managers, and employees on compensation-related matters, fostering alignment and informed decision-making.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field required.

Experience:

2-4 years relevant professional level experience required.Compensation experience preferred.Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).

Preferred Skills and Abilities

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.High level of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.Strong technical proficiency, especially in Excel and HR systems/software.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Effective interpersonal skills; able to collaborate and influence across teams.Experience with compensation job evaluation, benchmarking, salary surveys, and market pricing.Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams.Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
