**What you’ll do:**
The Specialist would be responsible for defining system architecture as well as control design for Distributed Energy Resource Management System
(DERMS) for microgrid products. This role entails defining system architecture, design & implement controls for energy management, maintaining power
system models, test strategy, developing test scripts, MIL-HIL validation of the controls. The role also requires to lead the design & implementation efforts of
the control team; would be responsible for the technical delivery of the control team.
A self-motivated individual is imperative; one who is always looking for learning new technology and ways to improve the user experience, stay abreast with
modern software development techniques, tools to meet launch deadlines.
• Defines system architecture, designs, implements, and maintains efficient, reliable, and reusable power system and control strategies for power
management products.
• Analyzes models in Power system development environment and proposes innovative solutions for control algorithm running on edge or cloud.
• Apply the modeling process in the design of controllers and development techniques for improvement of distributed energy management systems.
• Techincally leads and guides the control modelling, MIL-HIL validation of controls within the team.
• Drives investigation of problems by gathering enough information to find the root causes and fix them in real time modeling environment.
• Drives technical collaboration or partnership with Eaton internal stakeholders.
• Focus on innovation, files IP disclosures, patents, technical paper submissions, talks in technical conferences
**Qualifications:**
Required: University Master degree / PhD degree in relevant technical
from an accredited institution.
Preferred: University minimum Master / PhD degree in electrical or
Electronics engineering from an accredited institution.
Candidate should have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the
energy sector, with a strong background in developing and implementing
energy management algorithms.
**Skills:**
+ Candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of grid architectural deployment and demonstrate expertise in power and control systems for DERMS.
+ Experience in Power and Control Engineering: Demonstrated expertise in applying best practices in power and control engineering, including system design, implementation, and optimization.
+ Microgrid and Grid Operations Knowledge: In-depth understanding of microgrid operations and grid integration, including the ability to manage and optimize distributed energy resources.
+ Proficiency in Power System and Power Electronics Modeling: Advanced skills in using power system and power electronics modeling and control tools such as Typhoon, RTDS, OPAL-RT, Python, MATLAB & Simulink, C/C++, and scripting languages. Ability to develop and validate complex models and simulations.
+ Strong Analytical and Debugging Skills: Exceptional ability to learn, review, and debug complex systems and algorithms. Proven track record of identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
+ Domain Expertise: Extensive knowledge in power and control systems, as well as power electronics. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical applications and innovate within the domain.
+ Project Management Tools Proficiency: Proficient in using issue and project tracking software such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TFS, etc.
+ Excellent verbal and written English skills in relation to technical documentation required.
