Specialist, Search Engine Marketing

We are looking for a Search Engine Marketing Specialist who will be responsible for digital acquisition via search engine marketing (SEM) channels such as Google Ads, Search Ads 360 (SA360), Microsoft Bing, and Apple Search Ads. You will work closely with the marketing team and the Manager, Growth and Performance Marketing, and will be responsible for strategic oversight of the SEM budget, as well as the creation and trafficking of campaigns, ad groups, bidding strategies, ad copy testing, and executing against business objectives through ongoing optimization to continuously improve performance. You will act as a performance marketing trusted advisor across Marketing function and overall organization. **As the owner of the end to end activation of this channel, here’s what you’ll be focusing on:** **Campaign Management** + Set up and traffic SEM campaigns using Google Ads, SA360, Bing, and Apple Search Ads + Perform day-to-day campaign management and optimizations, including setup, launch, and continuous improvement + Monitor, revise, and optimize ad copy as needed + Manage SEM budget, conduct campaign reporting, and daily spend optimization, and feed into overall Voila Media billing process. + Demonstrate understanding of tracking and pixel customization (dynamic and static) + Show expertise in Responsive Search Ads (RSA), Structured Snippets, Callout Extensions, Discovery, PMAX, and other ad types + Understand conversion events/pixels, audiences, lookback windows, and bid strategies **Campaign Strategy** + Provide strategic oversight of SEM and develop plans for customer acquisition + Conduct keyword discovery, ad copy and landing page testing, and creative enhancements + Implement effective bidding strategies and keyword management + Collaborate with internal teams to improve search performance + Partnering with other banner search leads to ensure clear swim lane strategies and minimal cannibalization across campaigns. **Relationship/Stakeholder Management** + Be in house expert on all things related to paid search, digital media and act as advisor to various stakeholders. + Present SEM strategy, initiatives, and results to stakeholders, including external agencies, the marketing team, and SVP Ecommerce + Participate in weekly partner calls, team stand ups, and be key stakeholder within monthly business reviews. + Deliver campaign reporting to stakeholders, support overall media team with shared ongoing reporting duties. + Collaborate with business leads to support acquisition goals **What You Should Have:** **Must-Have Qualifications** + 5–8 years of SEM & performance marketing experience + Proven success managing and optimizing campaigns across Google Ads, SA360, Bing, Apple Search Ads, and Performance Max / Demand Generation. + Deep knowledge of bidding strategies, optimization techniques, ad types, and performance metrics + Clear understanding of SEO and SEM principles + Strong communication and project management skills + Analytical mindset with ability to derive actionable insights **Nice-to-Have Qualifications** + Broad media understanding across other paid channels. + Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics + Strong understanding of ad operations, tagging, and ad serving + Technical ability to analyze diverse data sets + Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills + Detail-oriented, thrives under pressure, and a strong team player + Experience managing in-house campaigns + Agency search experience + eCommerce or retail industry experience \#LI-LM1 #LI-Hybrid **Who we are:** We started in a small town in Nova Scotia but we are now in communities of all sizes across this great country.
