This position is responsible for supporting stores and merchandising through the coordination and support of all fixture planning activity including but not limited to research, design and vendor negotiation in supporting merchandising activities and fixture space utilization; project management; strategic distribution planning; program evaluation and merchandise presentation planning. This position is responsible for thoroughness and accuracy in research, determining the best source based on research that best supports execution of merchandising and merchandise presentation initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)Fixture Sourcing and Procurement
Negotiate with suppliers on areas of spend that assures the price paid reflects the greatest overall value and lowest total cost of ownership through fixture life cycle. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve fixture quality, evaluate fixture selections, identify and qualify sourcing and obtain pricing in order to make the best purchasing decision. Manage all accounting needs for fixtures by store including but not limited to determining quantities and total costing to initiate the CER process, obtaining Merchandise Presentation approval, CER policy compliance, providing accounting with fixed asset report for CER/Company initiatives, track all fixture cost and invoice reconciliation, and process and code fixture invoices per Accounting policies and procedures. Facilitate joint meetings to assist in procurement forecasting, demand management, requirements’ development, and identification of possible purchasing channels and sources. Partner with Purchasing Department to conduct strategic sourcing projects including the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Request for Quotation (RFQs) and Invitation to Bid (ITBs) and evaluate responses to determine final supplier selection.Fixture Inventory Tracking
Control, organize, and manage a centralized database of authorized fixture vendors, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, blanket orders, competitive solicitations and evaluations, item specifications, engineering drawings, fixture photos' files, and contracts for goods and/or services purchases. Responsible for strategic planning and management of fixture inventory to support new stores, existing stores and project related fixture needs. Work with Space Planners to ensure accurate fixture pieces, part numbers, and quantities are accurately reflected in plan-o-grams. Maintain electronic vendor files that contain contract documents, detailed specifications, insurance, communication, price changes, bid documents, renderings, engineering drawings, validation of inspection or quality assurance guarantees, and photos of each fixture that is supplied by the vendor.Fixture Planning
Determine fixture requirements for conversion and special project initiatives Assist in the development of new fixtures, working directly with Buying teams, Visual Presentation, Floor Planning and Space Planning.
Manage plans, purchases, distribution and tracking to stores of all fixture orders resulting from projects, rollouts, new stores, relocations, remodels, store/dm requests, punch lists, and store correspondence.
Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in a business or retail environment, with a strong knowledge in merchandising. 1-2 years of experience in print or fixture industry. Background in engineering or creative design preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
