About the role

Reporting to the Advisor, Senior- Employee Relations, the successful candidate plays a critical role in fostering a positive work environment by supporting and resolving employee concerns, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and contributing to initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of PNG employment law and HR best practices.

In this role, you will:

Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, concerns, and conflict resolution. Conduct fair, through, and timely investigations into complaints and grievances. Partner with management and HR leadership to resolve complex employee issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions and terminations. Interpret and ensure compliance with PNG Labor laws, internal policies and collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) Maintain detailed records of employee relations cases and outcomes in a confidential manner. Monito workplace climate and proactively identify potential issues or areas for improvement Support organizational change initiatives and help manage transitions from an employee engagement and communication perspective. Make appropriate and effective use of current HR Management Information Systems and work to make positive contribution towards further development and improvement of systems and reporting for employee Relations Assist in developing and delivering training programs related to employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace ethics. Analize trends and metrics in employee relations to develop proactive solutions and recommendations. Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Policy and all related rules and procedures.

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience.

Must have formal education qualification with a minimum first degree in industrial/organization Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration or such other related discipline 3+ years in employee relations, HR generalist, or related HR role in mining, gas or oil industry or other relevant sector is desirable Familiarity with employment laws and HR practices. Experience with conflict resolution, investigations, and compliance Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills  Strong analytical and problem- solving abilities High level of discretion and integrity in handling confidential information Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
