Cash Applications Specialist

About this role:

The Cash Applications Specialist is an integral part of the Corporate Controllers Group. Primary responsibility is to manage a high-volume of payment and credit applications while maintaining all applicable backup for these applications for auditing purposes. Initiating contact with Collections, Order Management, and Clients on open items that need resolution. Maintaining adjustments to invoices as it relates to bank fees, withholding tax, and foreign exchange. Assisting in month end close of AR by ensuring all current month cash is posted and outstanding adjustments have been made. Support local accounting teams with documentation on payments for auditing and support for GL entries. Ensure our Oracle Fusion software is up to date with all applications, notes, reporting, etc.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for posting and applying Gartner Foreign and USD cash received internationally and within the US to appropriate AR and Non AR accounts.Maintaining adjustments to worldwide AR accounts upon approved documentation.Posting and applying US & Canada check payments received via lockbox.Processing and balancing credit cards internationally and within US daily.Assist in the worldwide AR Close and month end Oracle reporting.Prepare worldwide manual invoices within Oracle sub ledger which may include VAT tax.Maintaining and pulling copies of unapplied credit/cash balance worldwide to research resolution.Prepare worldwide Debit/Credit Memos and refunds relating to AR Sub Ledger.Verbal and written client interactions.Following up on unapplied cash either with Collector, Order Management, or with Client

What you’ll need:

Associate’s degree required; Focus in business preferred1 or more years of related office experience in one of the following areas: Banking, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Cash Applications.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Oracle Fusion would be a plus.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to communicate with a diverse audience at various levels and all countries and cultures within the organization.Effective listening skills.Excellent customer service skills.Strong initiative.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail.Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong team player.Ability to build strong internal/external business partnerships.
