Special Waste Sales Executive
Job Description We are seeking a driven and experienced Account Manager with a strong background in the waste management industry, particularly in hazardous and non-hazardous waste, environmental remediation, and California regulatory compliance. This role will inherit a well-established book of business exceeding $15 million annually, with a focus on client retention, territory growth, and new account acquisition. Key Responsibilities Sales & Account Management Manage and grow an existing book of business across Central Valley and Bay Area Conduct face-to-face meetings with 80–90% of existing accounts Identify and pursue new business opportunities (small to medium-sized accounts) Meet and exceed annual sales goals and budget targets Sell landfill airspace, manage contaminated soil, hazardous waste, and transporter waste solutions Collaborate with environmental consulting firms and industrial manufacturers Client Engagement & Field Work Maintain direct relationships with waste generators, including wastewater treatment plants Conduct quarterly visits to Bay Area clients Travel regularly within the territory (South Sacramento to Bakersfield) Provide on-site support and consultation to clients regarding waste processes and pollution control We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Industry Experience: 3+ years in waste management sales (preferably industrial) Familiarity with California Title 22, hazardous waste thresholds, RECRA/non-RECRA, and federal regulations Experience with wastewater treatment plants, generators of waste, contaminated soil, transporters, and landfill airspace sales Skills & Traits: Strong communication and relationship-building skills Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint Self-starter, driven, personable, and able to work independently Comfortable with cross-selling and working with environmental services teams Inherit a $15M+ book of business Responsible for retention and growth Expected to hunt for new accounts (small to medium-sized) Annual budget with bonus potential up to 40% of base salary (performance-based)
