Job Overview:

The Special Procedure Technologist performs proper radiographic procedures as required by physician orders. Provides patient service using diagnostic, portable and fluoroscopic equipment. Technologist is competent in the production of quality radiographs for proper treatment and diagnosis by physicians.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of Approved School of Radiologic TechnologyNJ LicensureARRT CertificationBLS through American Heart AssociationSuccessful completion of department-specific orientation

Preferred:

ACLS

Scheduling Requirements:

Day ShiftPer Diem schedulingWeeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call component with 30-minute response time required

Essential Functions:

Professional caregiver who is responsible for the preparation of the patient prior to the procedureTo assist the physician during the performance of cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral angiograms and interventions, permanent pacemaker procedures, and neurological angiograms and interventionsParticipates in unit Quality Improvement evaluation activitiesUses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to provide age-specific treatment
