Special Events Manager

The Special Events Manager is a key member of the management team and is directly responsible for managing the daily execution of all banquet functions at the property. The Special Events Manager will apply all their experience and knowledge to assuring outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 plus commission and benefits

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Must have 3-5 years of related experience in F&B management.  Golf course F&B experience preferred. College degree (Hospitality Management) preferred Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws Must have food and beverage/ ala carte and banquet experience Ability to manage staff (supervisory experience) Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

Provide a memorable guest experience Must be team oriented and be able to motivate staff Supervise banquet staff during an assigned event Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and developing all F&B staff Maintain communication among all staff members for overall event success Inspects and assists with banquet set-up and breakdown of tables, decorations, equipment, serving areas, and related activities in an accurate and timely manner Provide excellent food and beverage service for banquet events Manage revenue by tracking any additional charges incurred at the event Ensure satisfaction by communicating with the client throughout the event regarding any changes, substitutions, or special requests; assisting banquet staff throughout the event as needed (refilling drinks, delivering food, bussing tables, etc.); and following up with host at the conclusion of event Develop and implement marketing program to increase banquet business Full compliance with the Department of Health regulations Institute and implement all Human Resources guidelines Perform other duties as assigned by Food & Beverage Manager or General Manager

Working Conditions:

Physical activity including long periods (6-8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, and scooping. The employee will be required regularly to reach with arms and hands The employee occasionally will be required to lift up to 30lbs. Use of sight, reading, wrist movement to serve meals and beverages, operate food service equipment and clean food service areas Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception. Noise level is typically moderate Work extended hours during golf and holiday season Work weekends and holidays
